There are three steps of structural classes:
1. Impurity Pre-Removal (P204 / DEHPA Grade)
Nombre químico: De-(2-etilhexilo) ácido fosfórico.
Function: Used in the initial extraction stage to clear high-affinity impurities out of the pregnant leach solution. At low pH values, it leaves nickel and cobalt in the aqueous phase. It is a very important nickel cobalt extractants.
2. Intermediate Separation & Co-Extraction (P507)
Nombre químico: 2-Éster mono-2-etilhexílico del ácido etilhexil fosfórico.
Function: P507 displays a significantly wider pH separation stage between copper, zinc, manganeso, and cobalt than P204.
3. Ultimate Cobalt-Nickel Separation (DY272)
Nombre químico: Bis(2,4,4-trimetilpentilo) ácido fosfínico.
Function: It exhibits a highly specialized affinity for cobalt over nickel. This allows cobalt to be loaded cleanly into the organic phase while pure, remain nickel in the raffinate.
