The effect of chloride ions?

2020-04-26

Copper exists in the form of Cu2 +, CuCl +, cucl3 -, cucl42 - in the chlorinated system. When oxime copper extractant is used for extraction, copper ions in Cu2 +, CuCl + state enter the organic phase. The experimental results show that when the chloride concentration is not higher than 70g / L, the extraction rate of copper is almost not affected. When the chloride ion content in the system is higher than 70g / L, the extraction rate of the extraction system will be reduced due to the formation of a large number of complex anions. In the cell, chlorine gas will be generated; chloride ion has an adverse effect on the crystal growth of cathode copper, affecting the stripping and the color of cathode copper. The upper limit of chloride concentration allowed in the electrolyte is 40-50mg / L. when the electrolyte contains 20-25mg / L chloride, it is favorable for the deposition of cathode copper.
