The effect of nitrate ions?

2020-04-26

Under acid condition, nitration reaction will take place between nitrate and copper extractant (hydroxime) to form corresponding nitroaldoxime or nitroketoxime. After nitrification, the extraction ability of the extractant is very strong, but it is very difficult to reverse extraction ability. Even with 200g / L sulfuric acid, it is difficult to reverse extract the copper loaded in it. For the conventional electrolyte stripping system, the nitrated extractant can not be regenerated, so it has basically lost the ability of re extraction. Nitrate can not only nitrate with extractant, but also oxidize extractant and accelerate the degradation of extractant. Under the condition of high acidity, NO3 - has a strong oxidative damage to the extractant, some of which have been oxidized and degraded without nitration.
