In the electrolyzer, manganese will be oxidized to MnO4 - and Mn3 + on the anode. These ions have strong oxidability, which can oxidize diluent and extractant, causing serious degradation of organic phase. A certain amount of iron in the electrolyte can control the formation of MnO4 - and greatly reduce the degradation of organic phase due to the presence of manganese. When Mn has been transferred to the copper rich electrolyte, let Fe: Mn = (8 ~ 10): 1 in the electrolyte, reduce the oxidation of Mn to the extractant.
