There are three steps of structural classes:
1. Impurity Pre-Removal (P204 / DEHPA Grade)
Nama Kimia: Dari-(2-etilheksil) asam fosfat.
Function: Used in the initial extraction stage to clear high-affinity impurities out of the pregnant leach solution. At low pH values, it leaves nickel and cobalt in the aqueous phase. It is a very important nickel cobalt extractants.
2. Intermediate Separation & Co-Extraction (Hlm507)
Nama Kimia: 2-asam etilheksil fosfat mono-2-etilheksil ester.
Function: P507 displays a significantly wider pH separation stage between copper, seng, mangan, and cobalt than P204.
3. Ultimate Cobalt-Nickel Separation (DY272)
Nama Kimia: Bis(2,4,4-trimetilpentil) asam fosfinat.
Function: It exhibits a highly specialized affinity for cobalt over nickel. This allows cobalt to be loaded cleanly into the organic phase while pure, remain nickel in the raffinate.
