They also have synergistic effects on the extractant because they contain a small amount of aromatic hydrocarbons. Dissolving in organic solvents can improve the extraction capacity of the extractant, enhance the solubility of its metal chelates, reduce viscosity, and decrease volatility and solubility in water.
